Why We’re Here

Childhood Cancer Community exists to provide meaningful connections for families affected by childhood cancer to promote positivity and purpose throughout their journeys. Compassion builds our connections, and by making our presence known, we raise awareness and funding to find a cure.

What We Do

Monthly Community Nights

The third Sunday of the month is home to a Community Night for all patients, survivors, parents, and siblings of the Childhood Cancer Community. Dinner, activities, and quality conversation are always provided free of cost.

Online Community

Childhood cancer does not only exist one night per month and therefore, we rely on our private online Facebook community to remain updated on each other’s journeys between events. All families who have received treatment in the Midwest United States are welcome to join. Please contact us to learn more.

Special Events

At various times throughout the year, Childhood Cancer Community provides opportunities for families to connect in an especially fun setting. These events are also free of charge to families who attend.

Awareness and Research Funding

42 children will be diagnosed with cancer today in America. While we believe greatly in the need for a community to heal and cope with this journey, we also believe we must elevate the fight to end the disease. Therefore, we build awareness through participation in events, online promotions, and donate a portion of our funds raised to childhood cancer research.

Our Impact

Our aim in all things is to develop longstanding, deeply impactful relationships for families facing what is likely the most challenging experience of their lives. This type of impact is not easily measured, though is what matters most. A light on a dark day, an answered phone call in the middle of the night, and a smile where there would normally be tears is our “why.”

200+

Families being served

Families join the community at any point in their journey, and are encouraged to remain connected well beyond the completion of their treatment.

25+

Years Serving Families

The organization was founded by a childhood cancer survivor who has been dedicated to the service of these families since her own treatment in 1998.

15+

States Represented

While the organization serves families who are treated at medical institutions in the Midwest United States, families who travel represent a large portion of our population.
