February 2022 Candlelight Italian Valentine's Dinner!

If you want to bring energy to an event, just invite high school students! The Rochester Century High School Government Students served our meal, decorated the dining area, sponsored a photo booth, and more. for our February Community Night. They served a Candlelight Italian Valentine’s Dinner to 117 people, which consisted of assorted pastas, salads, bread sticks, cake, etc. It was fantastic!

We would also like to thank Donna Richardson for making all of the quilts for our families, and a special thank you to Caring Hearts of SE MN for the provision of Valentine’s gift bags for our children and teens.

After dinner our children were invited to our “Colored Easel” painting class which was led by Bailey Quam, Century High School’s art teacher. She did a great job helping all of the participants bring their canvas to life. What a room full of talent!

And to top our evening off, Childhood Cancer Community hosted a presentation for our parents/caregivers on “Caring for our Mental Health.” We were honored to have Ted Matthews present. Ted comes to us with decades of experience in the mental health field and had valuable insights to share with everyone.

It is always humbling to welcome first-time attending families to our Community Nights and/or events. In February we had 5 new families join us. A huge welcome to each of them
