April 2023 Pajama Party Community Night

April 16th brought all our Childhood Cancer Community families together for a fun evening of partying, entertainment, and a very special gift!

We were so excited to welcome back the Century High School Student Government Students! They not only provided our meal this month, but they also hosted a fun Pajama Party for everyone. All of our families were invited to attend in their pajamas and to bring their favorite stuffed animal and/or blanket. The students had decorated our dining area so beautifully in a “dreamy” theme, and served a “Breakfast Dinner”. In addition, they set up a couple of cool photo backdrops, complete with props, where our families could have their photos taken throughout the evening.

After dinner, we enjoyed entertainment by Cadence’s Circus on a String Productions. Cadence is a marionette puppeteer and shared his talents with our children and teens. After the show he allowed the children to interact with his puppets up close, many of which he personally made himself!

And finally a huge thank you to Aflac, for donating a “My Special Aflac Duck” for each of our children who are battling cancer. This soft and cuddly companion helps children prepare for medical procedures, communicate their feelings, practice distraction techniques and so much more. The duck even comes with its own app so the children can interact with it virtually, as well.
